Marvel Stadium Upgrade

Grimshaw with Smartform are currently working in collaboration on the $225m Marvel Stadium Upgrade in Melbourne. The redevelopment of the existing 53,000 seat venue delivers a range of new General Admission hospitality areas and amenities, Premium Areas with two elevated City facing multi-purpose Function Rooms, Lounges and Feature Bars, open landscaped terraces incorporated into two major additions to the existing venue. A stadium upgrade package includes new team facilities, videoboards and thematic lighting.

Smartform are leading the sports planning, sports architecture, and interior design in collaboration with the Grimshaw and the sub consultant team, facilitating stakeholder consultation with the AFL, MSL, Development Victoria and the OVGA.

The upgrade seeks to revitalise areas of the stadium precinct and public realm and enable improved connectivity between City and Harbour and nearby Southern Cross Station.
